Logging On |
| In the
first window that appears, Type in any
"Name"
you'd like to be known
by. This can be different every time you log on or the same. You can
then press the silver
"Connect Now!"
button. This will take you to the next screen where you will enter a
room. If you decide you'd rather enter through another room other
than the #lobby type the name of the room list /join #RoomName. If you'd like to register your
nickname preventing others from using it,
register here.

2.
Choosing a room |
Once you've pressed the silver "connect" button on the first window, you
will arrive in your chat room. If you choose, you can now select another
channel by going to the bottom "Select a new Channel" drop down button
and go to
another room. The
name "Chatbot" is a watchdog robot to monitor and screen out
language. Learn more about chatbot and other safety features at our
Community Watch page. |

3.
Talking to Someone |
You can either talk to everyone in that room simultaneously, or
speak to one person privately. To talk to everyone just type your
message in the field at the bottom and press enter on your keyboard.
Your nick name and message will then appear in the middle area of this
window viewed by all in the room. You can also speak to someone
individually by clicking on their name from the list on the right side
of the window. Another window will then appear for your private message.
When finished, you can then return to the room by clicking on the gray
tabs with your rooms name on it at the bottom of this window. Please
note that the safest chat is to chat with everyone so that the
conversation is viewable by the hosts present!

Lingo |
Chat lingo are codes to help save you typing time. You will learn many
of these as you spend more time in the chat room.
LOL = laughs out loud
ROTFL = Rolling on the floor laughing out loud
AFK = away from keyboard
BRB = be right back
BBIAB = be back in a bit
IB = Im back
BTW = By the way
AFAIK = as far as I know
IMO= In my opinion
ATM= at the moment
PC= private chat
J/K= Just kidding
